(12) MATERIAL FOR THE STEERING BOX. I feel quite sure that aluminium would be perfectly satisfactory for this purpose, as evidently the box which was broken was the cause of wrong dimensions, supplemented by rough and careless fitting, both of which ought not to occur again. The object of avoiding the bronze is to save weight, and also because I understand we cannot make aluminium bronze castings ourselves, whereas the die-cast aluminium we can do well.
(13) The covers for the petrol tank should turn right handed to go on, and left handed to come off. We find on No.4.Goshawk, that the one on the engine is correct, but the one on the tank at the back is incorrect.
(14) Regarding the instrument board Sales and ourselves are in agreement, provided the speed indicator is moved slightly to the left so that the driver's view is not obstructed by the steering wheel, and that the relative position of the parts be exactly as Mr.Evernden's drawing - N.sch.1297 - except that the ammeter, and the speed indicator change places.

Starting from the left we have:
(1) Nameplate.
(2) Clock.
(3) Thermometer.
(4) Speed Indicator.
(5) Ammeter.
(6) Carburetter controls.
(7) Oil Gauge.
(8) Switch.
