Dear Swinden,

Many thanks for your letter of December 3rd.

I am very sorry to hear that you have got tonsilitis and hope that you will make a speedy recovery.

We will not spoil 12.B. until you return. I am very glad that you have managed to make some progress with it. It will be interesting to see if you can do equally well on the Duplex instrument.

I have not tried the car but am just going out in it.

Of course, we should like the acceleration below 60 m.p.h. up to scratch even though we lose a little top speed.

I have tried the car and we shall have to improve the full throttle and part throttle pick-up from 10 to 35 miles an hour on top gear before the car will be acceptable.
