We are open to correction. First Service Trials Gun. The first service gun is being produced at the moment by HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} It has an aluminium cradle, recoil cylinder, etc. It will be mounted on the Cerlim Mounting and will have an ammunition tray and armour shields. On Appendix sheet 1, we give a list of schemes which are applicable to this gun. It will be seen that the outstanding design items which have resulted from Lt: Cdr{W. J. Chandler - Chief Clerk}: Young's visit yesterday are :- (a) The addition of a shield at the front of the gunners face. (b) Modified armour shield to our original scheme QP.123. This gun has to be delivered by September Oth. complete with armouring, made in mild steel plate for experimental purposes. The gun we understand will be delivered to the Power Boat Co. Hythe, Southampton, for fitting to a motor Torpedo Boat. Second Service Trials Gun. The second service trials gun as far as the gun and cradle are concerned will be identical with the first. The mounting will be the pedestal mounting, now being produced by the L.M. & S.R. Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} | ||
