To CWB. from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} X4565 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/LG7.2.27. USE OF HIGH PRESSURE TYRES FOR HIGH SPEED WORK. With reference to CWB2/GM5. 2. 27. If customers could be relied upon to keep their 6.75" balloon tyres pumped up to a pressure of 50 lbs/sq.in., our main objection to their use on fast cars would disappear. There remains the question of a burst cover. Our recommendation is based on the fact that we have had little experience at really high speeds on 6-75" tyres, whereas we have done almost all our work on 10-EX car on 5" straight-sided covers.
