+4565 S/W. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} CWB2/GM/5-2-27. New PhantomCodename for PHANTOM I. Use of high pressure tyres for high speed work. In a recent memo you advised that it was desirable to use high pressure tyres, presumably allied to the rim with detachable flange, in the case of cars which might have a large amount of high speed work. Is this recommendation based on the construction of the tyre or the strength of the tyre or the type of fastening or merely on the desirable pressure in the tyre under these circumstances? Would it be equally effective to pump up the 6.75 tyre on well base rim to say 50 per inch, as to use the high pressure tyre at the same pressure, or are there definitely other reasons than those of tyre pressure behind your recommendation? From all points of view it does seem desirable to to possess only one standard tyre, if it is possible to achieve this. CWB. | ||
