THIS IS TO CERTIFY THAT I, the Manager,
of the .......................................................................... Bank, address..........................................................
of the said Bank undertake to indemnify the Secretary of the Royal
Automobile Club, Pall Mall, London, S.W. 1, to the extent of
£...........................with regard to Customs Papers issued
to..............................................................for which the duty
appears thereon equivalent to the amount hereon specified, in the
event of such Customs Papers being improperly discharged and
forfeiture of the deposit demanded by the Customs Authorities.
In the case of some countries, in the event of forfeiture
being demanded by the Authorities, not only is the Customs Duty
claimed, but also a Percentage Tax, a Luxury Tax on the value of
the car, and a Sojourn Tax. These amounts are not ascertainable
in advance until payment is claimed, but it is understood that in
the event of forfeiture being demanded, reimbursement of these
additional amounts will be added to the specified Forfeited Duty.
