The following gentlemen have been appointed by the R.A.C. to act as local examiners under the International Regulations. Motorists outside London wishing to obtain International Passes should communicate well in advance with one or other of the authorized examiners with a view to arranging for the car and driver or drivers to be examined on a date which may be mutually convenient. It must be remembered that most of the examiners are busy professional men and it is, therefore, essential to arrange an appointment in advance. The examiners cannot be expected to undertake examinations away from their own residences, unless by special arrangement. The examiners have perfect liberty to refuse to undertake examinations away from their own residences, and if they agree to do so they are entitled to charge double fees and travelling expenses. Examiners cannot be expected to undertake examinations at unreasonable hours or on Sundays or holidays unless by special arrangement. Two small photographs of each driver, head and shoulders only, unmounted, and measuring about two inches square, must be supplied to the examiner, who will also demand the production of the ordinary British driving licence, which has to be submitted to him for inspection. After the necessary examination of the car and each driver have been undertaken, the examiner concerned fills up a certificate form and forwards it to the R.A.C. with the photographs mentioned, and the Club then prepares and forwards to the applicant direct an International Pass and a “G.B.” plate. Car and drivers can be examined on any week day at the Club House in Pall Mall between the hours of 9.45 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. Saturdays between 9.45 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. (noon).
