Mr Birkett is sending the radiator to Cricklewood, to be repaired, & sending on the fan. I cannot say definite the cause of the trouble, it does not appear to be the shutter control rod fallen off, because I have tried the ball-end for fit & it is a good job, it requires quite an effort to push the rod off the ball joint. Crawford said he was travelling at 40 MPH., he heard 2 knocks in the engine, stopped open bonnet, & found the fan bracket at the top pulled away from cylinder. There was considerable amount of vibration from the fan (up & down movement) whether that has anything to do with the bracket braking I don't know. R W Bagley | ||
