URGENT. X8950 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from BJ. Copies to <strike>wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}</strike> <strike>By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer}</strike> Re Car No. 15-MC. Mr. Northey reports that yesterday when he was driving the E.A.C. cabriolet demonstration car, the fan bracket broke; this of course broke the fan and damaged the radiator. I understand this is the second time a somewhat similar accident has happened. We are sending the fan bracket to you with a view to immediate consideration as to whether this should be altered in/design. The position of course is very dangerous if there is anything wrong with this design, as we are now delivering these cars and sending them abroad. Therefore the matter requires immediate and urgent attention. Meanwhile, P.N. has given instructions with regard to trials cars that the tension on the fan belt shall be as small as possible, consistent with its operation. B.J. | ||
