ESTIMATED COSTS BENTLEY 50.

FLYWHEEL.

No alteration appears possible.

If flywheel made of S/M, the material saving is fully outweighed by cost of separate starter gear ring.

CLUTCH.

Recommend 10" Borg & Beck unaltered, we have no alternative to offer.

PEDALS. (Including clutch operating shaft and trunnion actually in Engine Section).

The outline schemes for the proposed pedals and clutch operating mechanism have only just been completed and no detailing is get done, so that it is at the moment impossible to submit a detailed estimate, but from a careful examination of the schemes we arrive at the following conclusions -

The pedal section proper will cost slightly more, both in material and labour on account of the extra rod and rocking lever necessitated by more flexible engine mounting, but against this, there is a corresponding saving in the part of the clutch operating mechanism which comes in the engine section, owing to the trunnion shaft with its bearings, and forked lever being replaced by a single lever passing through the side of the clutch casing.

Attached is a separate memo. dealing with the question of adjustable versus non-adjustable pedals.
