CHASSIS.

(1) Steel brake shoes.
(2) Lec. 4127 front engine mounting.
(3) The front suspension units will have to be as at present, as De. is not yet ready with the modifications to the shock damper parts to make them more accessible. De. is, however, handing us a print showing the bottom links shortened until they approach the length of the top links. This should be incorporated initially.
(4) Gearbox lid{A. J. Lidsey} to specification.
(5) We are getting some 7" initial deflection front springs and shall also order some lower deflection rear springs to go with them. These should be fitted to the car.
(6) Gearbox to the latest specification.
(7) Stiffer brake adjustment to N. Sch. 4198/4202.
(8) Brake cable adjustment, N. Sch. 4213.
(9) We should have available for test the slow motion suspension to N. Sch. 4177. We are not sure that details of this have been completed as yet.
(10) 4 1/4 : 1 ratio axle gears. We should urge these as without them we cannot get a proper impression of the car.
(11) We do not want to produce another worm and nut steering gear. We propose to continue running the existing La{L. A. Archer} Salle steering on SpectreCodename for Phantom III 1, and can fit the original worm and nut on SpectreCodename for Phantom III 2 while we are obtaining something else. The Design Dept. have a Marles type of steering under consideration, and will produce designs as soon as possible.
