| x 26-a COMPLAINT CASE REPLY TO C.D. for Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} S/W Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} H5/MD14.3.35. Complaint Case. Re: Richard F.{Mr Friese} Summers, Esq., - B-169-CW. --------------------------------------- In connection with our conversation on the telephone of yesterday in which you informed us that you would be prepared to consider Mr. Richard Summers's case as one of the special ones in which we would fit the higher compression head and as you added the aerolite pistons, we attach a copy of Mr. Summers's letter to us of the 8th and our letter of to-day. You will note that we have thought it well to mention that an ethyl-lead fuel will be necessary. Bn{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} advises us that this will be the case and it seems important that Mr. Summers should realise it at the outset. Will you kindly now let us know as soon as you can the approximate cost to the Company of fitting the new head and pistons with any other work which may be involved. As Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} will wish to follow up our letter of to-day with another indicating to Mr. Summers the extent, if any, to which we shall expect him to contribute towards the expense if he decides to have the work done. We assume it is an Experimental Department job but that nevertheless you will be able to give us some idea of what it would cost. We should be glad if at the same time you could give an approximate indication of when the material to do the work will be available. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} | ||
