| -2- that it is not a matter of imagination. I have also tried other 1935 cars, and I am satisfied that mine is well up to standard, so that there is no question that the difference is due simply to the added weight. I do not know whether you have any suggestions to make, but I must confess that I feel a little disappointed that I have to put up with an inferior performance, although I appreciate the better construction of the body and the riding comfort of the new car. I have another complaint about this car, and that is the steering is very heavy. This has been examined both at Derby and at your London depot, but little or no improvement has been made. On testing the tyre pressures, I find they are about 40 lbs., which is about 12 lbs. more than I used to have with the old car, and yet the steering is very much heavier. To manoeuvre the car, or to turn round a rightangle turn at low speed requires a very considerable effort which is very unpleasant. The steering appears to be very much lighter when travelling backwards, which makes me wonder whether the angle of the axle-pins is incorrect. Yours faithfully, (signed) RICHARD F.{Mr Friese} SUMMERS. Director. | ||
