Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Mr. Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} X41T3 BY.1/G.11.10.34. BENTLEY CHASSIS B.111-BL. RE SEIZING UP OF ENGINE. Referring to my previous memo on the above subject, in which I suggested that since we had had two failures of this type it became more important for us to carefully examine the parts to ascertain if possible what it was that produced failures of this type, as it was something quite exceptional in our own experience on RR.cars to seize a piston up. Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} has sent into my Office the connecting rods and pistons from the above car, and I would like to suggest that we meet on Tuesday next at 10/0 a.m. in my Office to look over the parts and see if there is a reasonable explanation, and whether such explanation demands action.
