Y33986 EFC. c. Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} EYS/P7.12.23. X.4414. X.3398.b X.4617. BATTERIES. With reference to our new proposals in regard to the P & R & Exide batteries, Mr. Minchin informs me that he will not be available until the 18th, 19th or 20th of December. In the meantime, of course, Mr. McKinnon is ill, and since Mr. McKinnon has very definite ideas about the battery question, I did not think it right to settle this matter until Mr. McKinnon was able to be in at the Conference. Mr. Minchin rang me up on the telephone and told me that he had heard from the Chloride Co. of Mr. McKinnon's illness, and added that the Chloride Co. were prepared to accept any decisions arrived at between ourselves and Mr. Minchin. He then asked if, in view of this we would retain the original conference date. I replied that I would rather put the conference off until Mr. McKinnon was able to be present, personally. In regard to your note in connection with ebonite separators, I see no objection to the use of a thicker ebonite separator, whereas there are distinct advantages, and since apparently in the P & R proposal the thicker ebonite is offset, so far as resistance is concerned, by increased flow-spaces through the ebonite, it would appear that their proposal should be a distinct advantage. I would therefore consider this to be a scheme worth discussing when Mr. McKinnon is able to fix a date for the conference. HY.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} | ||
