(3) This last test should be made on a good foundation of concrete or on an iron plate. Repeat and increase the test until the weakest place is found; increase the strength of this and lighten others, the theory being that it should all fail together. Lanchester's back axle looks so small and so much less strong that I think we are now overdoing strength, with the disadvantage of unnecessary weight. F.H.R. | ||
