Large Inlet Valves.

You have an aluminium head and a cast-iron head of about 7¼ to 1 on which you did some comparative tests. We want quickly to find out whether the large inlet valve is really an advantage. We are of the impression that it is not only not an advantage but it may actually be a disadvantage owing to the fact that it increases the chance of trapping the gas between the silencer and the head and the valve.

Will you therefore please get a careful figure for the cast-iron head with the 1.450 inlet valve and then put a 1.5 inlet valve in and get another figure.

At the same time with the aluminium head will you please get a careful figure for the 1.450 inlet valve and then replace it with new inserts and 1.4 valves.

You will then have figures covering the range from 1.4 to 1.5. We want to be quite certain about these figures.
