RECEIVED 10 NOV 1938 FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}6/M7.11.30. ORIGINAL X7520. P. 2. FRONT SHOCK DAMPERS. It is suggested that we should improve the lubrication of the upper joint by so directing the oil escaping through the air vent that it impinges on the joint. It will be seen that the air vent is just in front of the joint. Could you experimentally arrange a bent pipe which issues from the sloping hole of the air vent, and from there is turned up and then down again so as to come immediately over the joint in accordance with the attached sketch. It would appear then that however slowly the oil issued it would get on to the joint.
