- 6 - HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}6/VS.{J. Vickers}24.11.38. Water Pump Drive. To LOP.EW.1526 - Condition Satisfactory. Governor Drive. Complete to LOP.EW.1434. With the exception of hard wear on the gear teeth this section is in good condition. Water Pump. Assembled in accordance with S.CD.861. The end play in the rotor spindle has increased by .005 due to wear on the thrust button. No measurable wear has taken place on the whitemetal bush. The water pump spindle has worn .001 at the gland sections. General condition satisfactory. Oil Pump. To LOP.EW.973. The gears have been bedding unevenly, but all bushes are satisfactory. General condition good. Wheelcase and Fittings. The casing has been crack tested and found satisfactory. General condition good. Water Connections. The top and bottom moulded rubber main water connections have perished as will be seen from the attached photographs. Otherwise this section is satisfactory. Oil Fittings.
