Thanks for your long and interesting memo.
of the 25th, R2/M25.S.2, relative to the above.

I was at Derby for a conference yesterday and went carefully through this.

They are proposing to carry out what you suggest about proving at an early date whether the "Peregrine" engine will be satisfactory for Bansport by temporarily fitting it with a blower to test the HP available etc.

One of the most urgent things that they are waiting for at Derby from us is the gearbox, and if you can do anything to help this along so that Derby can have the drawings as quickly as possible, I should be very glad.

I gathered that E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} has sent you some of the cross sections of the engine and will be sending some more shortly.

On the question of a fan which you mention in the last paragraph, the feeling at Derby was definitely that provision ought to be made for a fan.
