E.A.C. 'V' SERIES STEERING.

We have tested the steering in the manner suggested by you at Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence of bolting the two arms of the rocking shaft solidly together.

Attached is a sketch which shews how this was carried out.

This experiment was carried out on the steering on which we had previously spent considerable time to get it to work freely. It was fitted with roller bearings to the rocker shaft. After these had been fitted, however, it still remained unsatisfactory.

Since we have fitted the latest experiment of bolting the arms together, the steering is now greatly improved. It is equal to the steering of the standard 40/50 HP.

It will be necessary for us to confirm the results before we can definitely say we have definitely overcome all the steering difficulties. The results so far however shew that the latest modification shews excellent promise of over-coming the stiffness.
