1153 Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}13/MH.{M. Huckerby} 16th. February, 1940. O.Boden, Esq., Messrs. Morris Motors Ltd., Cowley, OXFORD. Dear Mr. Boden, A line to let you know that we had a very interesting visit to Wolseley Motors to have a look at the Cotal box, and that they are going to be good enough to loan us a unit for test to destruction. If it is reasonably successful on our tests, we may undertake a design analysis to see where we can improve its proportions for the job that it has to do. We have done a considerable amount of research work on cars, and as a result our present 4-speed gearbox weighs just under 80 lbs. whereas the figure we were given for your 12 h.p. box was about the same. I understand from patent specifications that the S.U.Company may be developing injection equipment apparatus. We are at present interested in all branches of this subject, and should therefore like to know if anything is being done. Yours sincerely, | ||
