Barnes,
London, S.W.13.

For the attention of Mr. Noel-Storr.

Dear Sirs,

In reply to your letter of the 18th inst., we were hoping that your instrument would help us to identify foreign noises in engines, transmissions, etc. We found, however, that it was not sufficiently selective to be any real aid.

We can assure you that we gave the instrument a thorough test, and we do not think that any useful purpose could be served by a visit from your representative.

Thanking you for bringing the matter to our notice.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
