DISTRIBUTOR DRIVE FOR ALL CAST IRON ENGINES.

Please receive herewith :-

E.CD.1342 Modified Spring Drive for Distributors. B.60, B.80 and C.I. Conv. 6 and 8.

The design shows the spring drive and coupling sleeve modified from the previous designs E.CD.452 and E.CD.1129 to give the following improved condition.-

(1). The diametral clearance between sleeve and its housing is increased, as there is undoubted evidence of fouling at this point on the existing engines, new spring drive plates and retaining spring ring are called for.

(2). The coupling sleeve is the same for each of the above mentioned engines, allowing for the distributor spigot and the driving shaft projection being common in all cases.

(3). The shorter sleeve and longer driving shaft increase the clearance on the B.60 and B.80 between the spring drive and the bottom floor of housing which prevents the spring drive acting as a pump, to pump oil upwards into the distributor drive as reported on the existing engines by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}

The distributor drive housings are unaltered from previous designs.

Will you please detail and instruct the new parts for use on future experiments for all these engines.
