WRAITH DISTRIBUTORS
------------------
Complaint Report No. W.332.

The trouble with the contact finger on WXA-46 was caused by the rivet securing the spring and pad to the arm coming loose, this causing very imperfect contact between the spring and the arm, thus putting a high resistance between the L.T. supply and the points.

We are taking the question of riveting up with the makers, as it would appear that the counterbore in the block is not perfectly square and flat, with the result that, although the rivet may appear tight initially, the head quickly beds into the part of the block which is out of truth and the rivet is then loose.

We have only had two such cases on Wraith, but it used to occur periodically on R.R.Distributors which we made ourselves.

It will be advisable for Depots to inspect Wraith distributors for signs of looseness of the spring and pad, if necessary replacing any defective finger and returning the latter for examination.
