NEW PHANTOMCodename for PHANTOM I MODIFICATIONS.
---------------------

The gear box referred to in R2/M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} 15.10.25. is practically completed. We have, however, been unable to obtain the necessary information as to the design of frame to be utilised. We completed a design of frame and sent it to the makers, but stopped it upon information from Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}'s Department that it had to be modified. I have written on different occasions, discussed the matter with Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} when he has been up here, but apparently pressure of other work has kept the modified design for the frame, which is essential to this particular modification, from being completed.

The last information I had on the subject, was a memo from Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}, reference Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}3/M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} 15.8.25, written in reply to my BY14/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 13.8.25, that we were not at liberty to order dies, as further modifications would be coming through in the early future. In my memo I asked particularly for the relative urgency of the E.A.C.7, giving particulars of what MAC.{Mr Macintosh}7. consisted of.
