-4- The Petrol Consumption on the "Express" 10,000 miles was 20 miles per gallon, and with normal driving it would, of course, be better. of Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} thought that the points mentioned the Differential would take longest to redesign and test, but this could be done in about two weeks' time at W, and then safely put into production whilst they are being tested 10,000 miles on the road. It is expected that the car can start for its second 10,000 miles with new parts fitted in about two weeks' time. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} did not consider any of these points would delay output of chassis. It was stated that the four cord tyres gave nearly 10,000 miles running during the tests in France, this was under very rough and heavy conditions, so they ought to give 10,000 miles when driven with ordinary care. It was stated that the Look-out would not delay the experimental tests going on. Another Goshawk will be going to France shortly, to do a 10,000 miles test and this would have Rudge Whitworth wheels on. Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} will go out with this car early next week. This car will be lubricated every 1000 miles and washed regularly. In the 10,000 miles test which has just been finished the car was only lubricated once during the whole 10,000 miles, and never washed. The A.T.Speedometer. It was reported that 4.A.T. speedometer fitted to Goshawk cars had behaved excellently and it was recommended that these should be adopted as standard. | ||
