We have now got this chassis on test fitted with the special brake drums, and we find that these drums foul the ends of the cross steering tube. On making enquiries from Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} I find that when they fitted these brake drums to Raymond Mays previous car, they had to fit special steering levers to overcome this trouble. I have made arrangements with Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} to have the levers from the old car and fit them to the new chassis. When we have done this it will mean of course that we shall have to fit a shorter cross steering tube, and we shall attempt to fit the tube off his old car. If this is not possible owing to the various limits on the axle, it will be necessary for us to have a new tube made up for this car. LA{L. A. Archer} | ||
