Burton From: Mr. Olley We cabled you today as follows: " Sidgreaves: We can get supplies seven inch twenty tires for drop center rim but only by using new four inch rim which Dunlop are preparing to make stop will Hives test present standard Dunlop Fort tires on new rim to determine whether acceptable writing. Olley " In view of difficulties connected with steering on the straight side tire, also the trouble of squeaking flanges, and the fact that it is not standard at Derby, and that the D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} C. rim and tire is the accepted new development, we have been seeking an escape from the straight side tire. The D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} C. tire has at present only partially arrived in the U. S. It is now used as follows: RIM Austin 3.75 x 18 2.156 Chevrolet ( wire wheel ) 4.75 x 19 3.00 Chrysler Plymouth ( wire wheel ) do do Ford Model A do do Chrysler DeSoto (wire wheel) 5.00 x 19 do Chrysler Six ( wire wheel ) do do Essex ( wire wheel ) do 2.75 Willys 6-98B ( supersedes Whippet ) do 3.00 Chrysler DeSoto 8 ( wire wheel ) 5.25 x 19 do Lincoln 7.00 x 20 4.00 The question has been confused by the desire to change to the 19" wheel. | ||
