I should very much like to come and see you one day next week, or the week after, and would suggest Friday, the 28th. I will come to Derby, and hope to be at the Works just before 12 o'clock. I very much hope you will come and have lunch with me on that day ? I am very anxious to have a word with you about the fitment of tyres on the 4¼-litre Bentley, as, of course, a car with the performance that I understand this one has should really, I think, have a larger section tyre on it. I know you will probably say that this would mean extra weight; but at the same time I do hope you will appreciate our point of view when I say that this increased engine power must wear tyres quicker, and it is not at all helpful to our prestige or the name of our tyres that they should give exceptionally short life, particularly on such a famous car as the Bentley; and if the 3½-litre Bentley is already under-tyred, of course, the position is worse for the 4¼. I should also be very interested to hear what progress you have made regarding tyre fitment on the "Phantom lll". Very many thanks for so kindly saying that you will have a look at my brother-in-law's car when it comes to Derby. I hope you had a good time and suitable weather in Switzerland ?
