The following is a summary of experiments and other work carried out in connection with the above, and the coils used. No. 2960 This coil appeared to be OK when received. Primary was tested at high voltage, during which secondary broke down. Secondary failure confirmed on bench rig, then coil was partly stripped and fault discovered. No. 3009 Received with partial short-circuit on primary. Primary was definitely broken down on high voltage test. Failure was confirmed on bench rig then coil stripped and fault discovered. No. 3016 When received was sufficiently weak on secondary to fail production test. Nothing further done.
