Confirming our conversation on the telephone this afternoon, Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} and I have discussed these two memos, and it appears to us there are two different methods of procedure recommended:-

(1) Whether we do the experimental work.
(2) Whether S.U. do it.

Also, in one memo. it is suggested to cut out the flooding device and in the other to retain it.

So that it makes it difficult for us to understand just what procedure you propose adopting.

Will you please, therefore, agree on your recommendations and let us know what you are going to do.

Obviously we would prefer that the expense of this job should be borne by S.U., we, of course, giving them all the technical assistance we can, and if there is no objection we would much sooner have the flooding device, as it is so very convenient for the Owner-driver when he gets a stoppage on the car to see whether it is a shortage of petrol to the carburettor or not - this is, of course not very convenient on the Rolls-Royce, and very often a lot of petrol is spilled in the process.

We shall be glad, therefore, to receive particulars of the procedure you propose to adopt when you have agreed upon this.
