32-EX. Steering.

Will you please alter the adjustment of the side steering tube springs on the above chassis as follows :-

(1) Reduce the length of each spring equally so that when the ball pads, ball pin, springs and guides alone are assembled in the rear end of the side steering tube, the rear guide projects between 0.003" and 0.007" beyond the alum. washer on the end of the housing. The amount to be ground off each spring must be found by measurement, but it will be approximately 0.030".

(2) The nuts on the ball pads should be set and locked so that they just do not compress the springs.

You have already adjusted 36-EX in this manner so no difficulty should be experienced.
