X.4279 c. Da. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. By: c. EP. {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 3/T. 9th March, 1921. Messrs. North & Sons Ltd., Whippendell Road, Watford. Dear Sirs, X.4181 Re Magnetos for R.R. Chassis. X 4279 With reference to the question of magnetos, we are making tests both on the bench and on experimental cars of the K.C.6. both of the old and improved types, and these are giving a certain amount of satisfaction, but we would like again to impress you with the fact that the machine having a larger armature and larger safety gap will probably more readily meet our rather exacting requirements. We shall, therefore, be interested to know how far you have been able to get with your new design of the magneto in which these alterations are being effected. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
