BUICK. ----- I duly received the message you gave over the telephone this afternoon to the effect that you want the following parts for the Buick car:- (1). Clutch lining with new rivets. (2). 3 new nuts for clutch case. I phoned the order to Lendrum and Hartmann's [handwritten note 'mann' above] Service Station at Old Oak Lane, Willesden, N.W.10, and am sorry to say they have insufficient details of the series 40 Buick, i.e. the model you have, to supply the parts you want. They have a handbook and a Spare Parts List but they have received no parts specially earmarked for the Series 40, and their Spare Parts List apparently gives them such little information that they cannot tell whether corresponding parts for other models would suit you. We assume that you have the clutch dismantled and consequently may be able to quote the dimensions of the new lining you want and of the rivets and nuts. It is suggested that you should telephone this information tomorrow morning, before 1 p.m., to Mr. Armstrong of Lendrum and Hartmann [handwritten note 'mann' above], Willesden 4100, and he will do his best to supply what you want from Spare Parts they have for other model Buicks.
