X.3426 Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} RECEIVED BY12-P16.1.22. 40/50 GEARBOX. RE USE OF GROUND GEARS. I understood from EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}, that you proposed to send through a standardisation sheet recommending the use of ground gears. Has anything further been done in regard to this matter, as the Works will, under the new scheme, be building up some gearboxes, and it seems to me it is desirable to use ground gears in any new boxes that we are going to fit up.
