Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X4299 2. PN {Mr Northey} 3/DN/8.3.22. TO EP. {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} c. to HS. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} & CX. {Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} X3922 TRIALS LANDAULET - 1-LW. X4299 X4181c It is most important that we have a sufficiently quiet 14-tooth axle for this car at the earliest moment. Can you let me have one at once ? I hope to be in Derby on Friday next. The 14-tooth axle on our Open car - S1-TW - is not good enough and would be hopeless on the Landaulet. I am sending this car to Derby today in order that expert attention can be given to dealing with the abnormal engine vibration which has developed of late, to an extent which makes it useless for purposes of demonstration. I get the impression that the damping device is not functioning or that "slack" exists in crankshaft bearings. It would be a good opportunity whilst this car is at the Works to fit one of the latest sleeve type Watford magnetos. I should like to take an early opportunity of having these magnetos fitted to each one of our Demonstration Cars. PN. {Mr Northey} [STAMP] Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} MAR 9 1922 RECEIVED | ||
