14 Tooth Axle on Closed Cars.

CJ1/E16/3/22

Has the standardisation sheet for the application of 14-toothed axles to all covered cars yet been completed and has Mr.Royce signed it?

If not, the 14-toothed axle should not be made standard for covered cars until Mr.Royce has approved.

In the latter case please write to Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} at Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence asking him to obtain Mr.Royce's approval.

I understand that, when PN {Mr Northey} saw Mr.Royce at Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence, Mr. Royce expressed some doubt as to the wisdom of adopting the 14-toothed axles on the ground that we have no knowledge as to the extent of extra engine wear which would be involved.
