-3- HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/WSC.{W. S. Cassel}10/BA.27.4.39. 6.B.IV. On test for further experience of Overdrive Gear Box 10 x 43 ratio rear axle. Fitted with B.24 Unit. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} stated that he would like SCD.1279 Shear Pins to Side Steering tube to be fitted on this chassis. Will CP. please issue work cards covering this. Will RH.{R. Hollingworth} please inform the Garage when he will be in a position to accept the car for this modification. [Handwritten] Shear Pins ready 7.B.V. On test for general development fitted with B.V.No.2 Unit. RH.{R. Hollingworth} requested that the car be sent into the shop on Monday next for the purpose of aving the flexible flywheel fitted. 8.B.V. This car which has now completed 50,000 miles test has had the body removed and the chassis has been sent into the shop for 100% strip inspection and report, including the engine Unit B.V.No.7. Regarding the strip, instructions issued in HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/WSC.{W. S. Cassel}1/BA.27.4.39 should be carried out. 9.B.V. At present in the shop having the gear box changed and BCD.1064 modification to oil pipes fitted. This chassis will be sent into the shop early next week for the purpose of incorporating FCD.1170 Pedals etc. new Rear axle gears, Propeller Shaft to have SCD.1277 Noise insulated centre bearing incorporated, will CP. please see that all the necessary fitting cards are issued covering this work.
