-2- HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/WSC.{W. S. Cassel}10/BA.27.4.39. 14.B.V. Continental Chassis. This chassis is still at the Coachbuilders in France having the body fitted, it was stated that we can anticipate this being returned somewhere about mid May. It was reported by LK.{L. King} that all the necessary details required for this chassis for test will be O.K. in time for the cars' return. It must not be overlooked that an all Helical Overdrive Gear Box is required. The engine allocated being Wraith III No.10 - (see notes 12.B.V.) 3.B.50.15,000 miles test. RH.{R. Hollingworth} stated that this car would be passed to test by the end of the month, fitted with B.V.No.3 Gear Box with standard ratio gears and B.60.No.4 Engine Unit. It must not be overlooked that an All Helical Gear Box with standard ratios is required for this chassis before same goes out to France, also wide track axle which has already been instructed and Fitting Cards issued. 4.B.60. We anticipate despatching this chassis to the Coachbuilders for the purpose of having the body fitted by the middle of May. We understand that the design for the Radiator is well in hand and will be issued shortly, and that R.R.type bonnet is to be fitted in Alum. We are urging details for this. Which C/line Silver Ripple Chassis. This is a new chassis, the frame being as B.V.. Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/Lee is to obtain the first production type frame for the completion of this new car. We anticipate having a complete specification during the next week or so. CHASSIS ON TEST. Ph.III.35-Ex.
