Independent Suspension Dampers. N.Sch.4603. The attached drawings Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}208/9/10/11/12 show the modifications made to the damping units supplied originally for 36-EX, and now transferred temporarily to 35-EX. Rig tests have proved these units to be far superior to the existing standard units from the point of view of quietness, without the aid of valve leak washers. The transfer tubes on this pair have only been sweated (and pegged) on to the valve chambers, since they were only intended originally for local use, and a brazed set is being urged for use on the 10,000 miles trials car 35-EX, although it is doubtful whether this can be completed before the car is despatched.
