Messrs Rolls Royce Ltd., Derby. Dear Sirs, For the attention of H.West Esq. re: Tank Attachments. With further reference to Mr. Nichols' letter of the 25th ult, we have pleasure in advising you that Mr. Franklin, our Works Chemist, has completed his investigation with Mr. Banks, on the subject of the sticky residue which we have found on tank units. We are enclosing herewith a copy of his report and shall be glad if you will let us have your comments in due course. With regard to paragraph 2, we confirm that the floats are now being tin plated and we feel that we have taken care of any possible cause of corrosion. With regard to paragraph 3, we feel that you will agree that this is a matter which causes us a certain amount of concern as it would appear rather difficult to put forward a design which would possibly take care of the 'gumming up' such as described. We would however, welcome your suggestions on this matter and assure you of our best attention. Yours faithfully, for S. SMITH & SONS (MOTOR ACCESSORIES) LIMITED. T.S.Rowell ELECTRICAL ENGINEER. All communications should be addressed to the firm. [Handwritten notes] JBD{John B. Dixon - Fuel Systems} Any comment? WH | ||
