x1250 Exptl. Dept. Re/Std.6/JH. 14th January, 1936. Messrs John Marston Ltd., Wolverhampton. For the Attention of Mr Southall. Dear Sirs, We send you herewith the analysis of the effect of altitude on the critical air temperature of the typical R.R. Car, as promised in our discussion when you were in Derby last. We have received your letter, of the 10th instant, and the cost figures mentioned therein, for which we thank you. We should like your estimation of the weight saving in the case of the two alternatives which you have quoted us, i.e., (1) .005 tinned waterway & .004 untinned centres. (2) .005 & .004 We note that you are making the matrix to EB.2513 ordered by us in our letter of the 9th instant, in .006" and .004 tinned matrix, and that you will complete same in one week. We should like you to supply us with a test block of your 52 m.m. Mark VI matrix 17½ x 17½. We wish to forward this to the Harrison Radiator Corporation so that they can carry out comparative tests with the Gallay type matrix. The block could be returned to you after the tests. If you are willing to do this, will you please despatch the test block to us as soon as is convenient to yourselves. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS ROYCE LTD. | ||
