EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/KT.21.10.33. STREAMLINED BENTLEY - B.23.AE. With reference to Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/WT.20.10.33. We have sent off the apron, tools, and the hub caps, as required for this car. When we change the radiator we shall certainly have to do some fitting to the apron, and therefore it is questionable whether it is economical to paint it in London. We note that you have modified the bonnet sides to double louvres, so that you can completely fit and paint it at Park Wards. When we change the radiator we shall have to re-fit the bonnet, and again, therefore, we feel that painting the parts suitable for the original radiator is not of much use. We have the 11/41 axle here, and recommend that you get the speedometer from Smiths, we agree that it should read up to 110 M.P.H. We agree that the initial test should be carried out with the standard engine H.P. There would be no difficulty in letting Park Wards have the car back for a couple of days when we have carried out the necessary modifications to the chassis, and think that this would be the better policy - i.e. as with the other 14 chassis.
