DETAIL OF FAULTS ON 10,000 MILES TEST. PARTS REPLACED. Cork disc for Bijur Clutch. Exhaust blows from manifold joints - 3 washers fitted. Fan belt broken - new link fitted. FAULTS. Air valve sticking. Klaxon diaphragm cracked. adjustment loose. adjusted. Starting carburetter adjusted one-sixth of a turn stronger. Dynamo coupling nut tightened. Fan adjustment fouls water pipe. Oil pressure failing at low speeds. Steering box support bracket on frame creaked. Slight water leak from rubber joints. Dynamo positive brush sticking. ACTION TAKEN TO OVERCOME FAULT. There is one of these discs given in the spares. We have taken this matter up with the makers - we are also testing other materials. These are given in the spares. We are testing other makes of belt. ACTION TAKEN TO OVERCOME FAULT. We have taken this up with the D.O and Works - Valves now being produced are carefully checked for clearance. We have taken these faults up with the makers - we are also testing other horns. An easy adjustment is provided for differences in temperature and fuel. After this was tightened up, we had no further trouble. Taken up with D.O. This was due to dirt under the valve - after it was cleaned we had no further trouble.
