W/S C. from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} x4050 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/LG28.4.21. RE. DUNLOP CORD TYRES - STRAIGHT-SIDED. Referring to your Hn{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders}21/DP26.4.21. We are testing straight-sided cord tyres. We have not had any experience with the Magnum tyres with the cord casing. There is no doubt whatever that the cord tyre will last longer than the fabric tyre. We have found, however, that the cord tyres should be run with slightly less pressure than the fabric tyres. With the cord casing there is less friction than with the fabric and one gets quicker rebound from the tyres; on the other hand, with the fabric tyre, it is the friction in the fabric which destroys it. We would recommend that you run a set of Magnum cord tyres on your cars in London. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
