To C.J. from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} x1494 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG1 8.6.21. x3614 x1494 SPRINGFIELD COMPLAINTS. With reference to the attached note ref. CJ5/E16.6.21. The Gabriel Snubbers have not been standardised, in fact, we have never had a set fitted to a Rolls-Royce Car. The R-R Shock Absorbers have not been standardised in their complete form. On 4.EX Car which has just been returned from America was fitted Rolls-Royce Shock Absorbers, but Springfield have gone to the trouble of removing them. We recommend that the policy of fitting shock absorbers should be left in the hands of Springfield. So far, I do not remember them making any demand for shock absorbers - they always impress upon us that the pre-war cars without shock absorbers are behaving quite satisfactorily.
