The sending of 13.2mm and 40mm gun drawings and models to America.

(in line with Ashby, etc.,) the following two batches of gun prints were sent to Mtn. for inclusion in general parcels which he sends to America from time to time. These are listed in detail in Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}10/JMS.2.7.40. and Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}10/JMS.24.7.40. copies of which are attached. 40 mm. GUN. In addition to the above, the folowing details were sent (enclosed with your letters to CT) as representing possible bottle necks in production. Q.1712 Barrel. Q.1710) Breech Ring. Q.1710A) Q.1204 Housing - Striker. Q.1706 Body - Breech Block. Q.1711 Arm - Striker. Q.1777 Stirrup - Firing. NOTE: Wooden models of the breech block and Ring have been sent to America for both guns. The first batch of 13.2 mm. drawings would arrive in America between the middle and end of July. The second batch of 13.2 drawings would arrive about the middle of August. The first 40 mm. consignment consisted of the barrel drawing only, which would arrive about the end of July. The second 40 mm. consignment consisted of the remainder of the prints already listed, together with wooden models of the breech block etc., which would arrive by the end of August, or early September.
