Tests on P&R PRRNII-102 Battery (213/4)

This battery has now run 12,117 miles, & on bench tests no 3 cell of no 2 unit has been found faulty, having a very poor capacity.
An electrical leak was found between nos 1 & 2 cells in the same unit. This was due to the compound breaking away from wall & allowing acid to get over.
This is the first occurrence of this & if we are going to be troubled with it I suggest the two dividing walls should be made a little taller to protrude through the bitumen & form a bridge.
Of course it must be realised this battery has no doubt received an abnormal amount of vibration due to the box supporting cross member being broken as reported in JD{J. Draper - Frames}84 6-6-30.
