OBSOLETE ROAD SPRINGS.

All the road springs which we recommended should be utilised are in process of being absorbed with the exception of the Continental P.II rear springs which it is proposed to use on Continental P.III cars. In any case, these springs cannot be used up before we get some Continental P.III cars to put them on. Until we have made a Continental P.III car, we do not know that the poundage of the springs available is going to be correct; furthermore, a new spring bracket is required as we have already pointed out.

There still appears to be a very good chance of using this £400's worth of material, and we, therefore, do not recommend that these springs are scrapped for at least six months.

The attached memo from By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} indicates that some of the Experimental recommendations are being adopted; this particular instance is one which we think is of some value.

We are pushing ahead getting some simplified Wraith road springs, and will subject these to bumper road tests so that the question of their reliability will be one of fact, and not of conjecture.
